oh cali, i am but a fool…
shame on me. shame!
using my always brilliant trend predictor skillz, i declared that i would never partake of video podcasts.
the fun of podcasts, i self-righteously asserted, was that you could listen to them with your eyes closed. it was radio reborn, not (sneery sneer) amateur tv.
one woman changed my mind.
that woman, ladies and gentlemen, is cali lewis.
in case you don’t know, cali
presents one of the best and most popular video podcasts in the world: geekbrief tv. she’s young, pretty, happy (geekbrief’s tagline: ’shiny happy tech news’) very grounded and extremely knowledgeable about gadgets. i’m into technology but have no idea of at least 50%of what she’s talking about. yet her show is still a must see. you could barely know how to turn your ipod on and still enjoy this podcast.
i’ll admit, at first i didn’t know what to think of cali. i found her delivery so tech-filled and speedy i had to stop and catch my breath. either this show was fantastically good or very weird. i quickly settled into the former camp and am now utterly addicted.
a few weeks ago, i was shocked! to discover that cali is not cali at all, but a writer called luria petrucci whose name appears on the show’s credits. whaaa?
not to worry, ‘cali’ is not an actress or a figment of luria’s imagination, just a pseudonym seeing as luria petrucci is a bit trickier to pronounce/spell.
in my totally platonic way, i adore ms cali lewis (as she’ll always be to me), the queen of vidcasts - long may she reign!
even if i am very a bit jealous.
