sequence of events:

i had some trouble with my desktop PC.

my alphasmart portable word-processing device decided to stop transferring files to my PC.

i started craving the convenience and flexibility of a laptop.

i earned some money.

i found out laptops were tax deductible.

i saw some special offers on laptops.

i started reading martha beck’s 4-day win (thanks for the tip, keris - it’s great!) and bought into her concept of small and large rewards.

i set myself a goal: to do an awareness meditation for 5 minutes every day, for 4 days straight.

i successfully completed my goal.

can you guess what i bought last night?

if you can’t, you must be even more dazed and confused than i feel after working almost all weekend… when i can think in paragraphs again i’ll fill you in on my university interview: hopefully soon.

You’re welcome. Martha’s always wonderful. Which one did you get? I want the tiny tiny EEE PC thing, but it’s out of stock. Also my Alphie won’t work the other way, i.e. I can go Alphie->Mac, but not Mac->Alphie. Pah.

Hello from Mexico, Di. You will love the laptop. I can’t live without it…which is why I have it with me in Mexico!

Thanks Suz! Yes, you *do* always have your lappy with you… I can’t wait to be the same :) Hope Mexico is nice?

Keris, those EEEs are SO cute! But the memory doesn’t inspire me much. Better than the Alpha, but is the battery life any good?? (that’s not a rhetorical question, I haven’t found out yet).

I got me a Dell, anyway, cos there was money off and you can choose all your own specs & I’m a control freak. Plus everyone says the battery life is good and it will be my only compy when I’m at uni as I’ll leave the desktop behind. I got it loaded with Photoshop elements & can’t wait to play with it! :)
